‘The Head’: New Horror Film From The Middle Ages
There is a new horror movie called “The Head” in production that you’ll want to keep your eyes on, and it comes from a director who has always had a bleeding heart for horror.
“The Head” is described as a “Medievel horror movie.”
The plot is goes this way:
“A barbarian monster hunter of the Middle Ages is haunted by a decapitated head when one of his slayings returns to life.”
The film’s director, Jordan Downey has come a very long way since his low-budget debut film, now cult classic “ThanksKilling.”
That film was a collection of his adoration for the genre. In it, he references everything from Freddy Krueger to Leatherface.
He holds a figurative PhD in horror.
in 2014, Jordan also took on one of his favorite horror series of the 80’s, creating a sequel of sorts in “Critters: Bounty Hunter,” a high budget-looking suspenseful addition to the Critters universe.
If you haven’t seen it, take a look it’s magnificent.
Although his budgets may be a little bigger now, Jordan’s style is to take what he has and create something that looks twice as expensive.
Taking on a period piece will probably put his wallet to task, but in the long run the dollar signs and tech genius will undoubtedly be visible on screen.
iHorror will update you as we learn more about the production to “The Head.”
“The Head” is directed by Jordan Downey and stars Christopher Rygh.

Blumhouse Revives ‘My Bloody Valentine’ Franchise with New Film
According to our friends over at Bloody Disgusting, Blumhouse Productions is set to revive the “My Bloody Valentine” franchise, breathing new life into the slasher series that has been dormant for 15 years. The original film, released in 1981 and directed by George Mihalka, became a cult classic with its chilling tale of a murderous miner named Harry Warden. The 2009 remake, directed by Patrick Lussier and presented in 3D, grossed $100 million globally but failed to generate sequels.
The storyline centers around a deranged miner who kills those celebrating Valentine’s Day, a theme explored in both the original and the remake. The 1981 film’s plot involves a group of people defying a folk tale’s warning, leading to a series of gruesome murders. The remake follows Tom, who returns to his hometown on the anniversary of a massacre, only to find himself accused of the killings.
Despite their popularity, neither film led to additional installments, leaving fans yearning for more. Blumhouse’s new project aims to continue the legacy of Harry Warden, promising to delve deeper into the lore and horror that made the original films iconic. We don’t have any more information at this time, but we will be sure to update you as news becomes available.

Deranged Minds Entertainment – ‘Inverted’ Coming Soon!
Finally, the highly anticipated satanic cult film from Deranged Minds Entertainment, “Inverted,” will be released next week. This film has been on our radar for the past few years, and I’m excited that we will soon have the opportunity to see the work of filmmakers Destinie Orndoff and Tristan Clay. Check out the trailer and press release below.
Today, the award-winning duo behind Deranged Minds Entertainment announced the official release date for their second feature-length horror film, “Inverted.” Splatter fans will be able to stream or purchase “Inverted” on DVD beginning May 28th.
Deranged Minds says, “Inverted is a psychedelic 1970s exploitation epic.”
The film follows an off-the-grid satanic cult in the 1970s that kidnap a group of hippies to brainwash and recruit for the Holy War against the second coming of Christ. The group has a choice to join the war or fight to survive one of the most brutal satanic cults in the annals of American history.
Mother Alma Fines (leader of the cult) is portrayed by Susan Lanier, star of Wes Craven’s 1977 cult classic, “The Hill’s Have Eyes.” Other notable cast members include Maria Olsen (“I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu”), Jeremy Gladen (“I See You”), Hannah Keeley (“No Game Like Foxes”) and Destinie Orndoff (“Red Eye“).
“Inverted” is an original story by Orndoff with the other half of Deranged Minds (Tristan Clay) directing. Deranged Minds added,
“Getting Inverted to the finish line was no easy feat but f*ck are we happy it’s finally here. It wouldn’t have been possible without the horror community supporting us. We also can’t thank the folks over at Twin Engines/Desk Pop Entertainment enough for believing in our nasty slice of throwback cinema in its entirety.”
Deranged Minds Entertainment was founded in 2015 by 18-year-old aspiring filmmakers, Tristan Clay and Destinie Orndoff. The dynamic duo became friends at an east coast horror convention earlier that year and quickly decided to work together to make their childhood dreams of becoming filmmakers a reality. You can watch their first feature-length horror film, “Red Eye” now on DVD and streaming.

Marcel Walz’s ‘Brute 1976’ Shows Off Official Artwork
Marcel Walz is a filmmaker who has carved out a niche in the horror world with his unique blend of graphic horror and psychological depth, continuously pushing the envelope and captivating audiences with his innovative storytelling. That said, I have no doubt his newest venture, Brute 1976, will be excellent to experience.
Raven Banner just released the Artwork for Brute 1976. Check out the new Artwork and press release below.
The slasher Brute 1976, director Marcel Walz’s (That’s a Wrap, Blood Feast Remake) throwback to horror classics like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, kicks off with a group of friends stumbling upon the desert town Savage while looking for a spot to set their latest photo shoot. They soon meet the depraved, mask-wearing Birdy family, who begin hunting them down one by one.
From Neon Noir, the upcoming Brute 1976 is said to be a love letter to The Texas ChainSaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, with Joe Knetter (Twilight of the Dead) writing.
The cast includes Adriane McLean (Miracles of Christmas), Sarah French (Blind), Gigi Gustin (The Retaliators), Dazelle Yvette (Garden of Eden), and Adam Bucci (NCIS Los Angeles).
“I’ve always been a huge fan of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, both the originals and remakes,” said Walz. “Brute 1976 was an amazing experience to shoot: It was hot, it was dirty and it was bloody. I’m sure the audience will feel that on screen.”
“Brute is our love letter to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which I consider to be the greatest horror film of all time,” said Knetter. “Shooting in the desert provided many challenges, but our cast and crew really delivered something special.”
