Images of Asian Music representa imagens compiladas durante 1973-1974, quando Peter Hutton estava morando na Tailândia e trabalhando no mar como marinheiro mercante. Enquanto o filme é silencioso, o título pretendia evocar uma comparação com o movimento da música clássica asiática.
